Character Name: Peacock
Series: Skullgirls
Timeline: Just after defeating the Skullgirl in her story path.
Canon Resource Link: Official website and her Wikia page!
Character Background: Peacock was once a young orphaned girl/war slave named Patricia, however she was found by Dr. Avian after she was brutally mutilated by the men who enslaved her. Not only did he become a fatherly figure to Patricia, but he decided to use his technology to make her into a weapon of destruction with super powered weaponry built with the purpose of destroying the new Skullgirl. Skullgirls were beings who made a wish on a legendary item called 'The Skull Heart' who then became monsters due to not having a pure heart. If the wish is considered selfish by the Skull Heart in any way, or the girl who wished it's heart is impure, the girl who wished upon it would become the next Skullgirl and be forced into doing the work of a dark force, as well as have their wish twisted in an unsatisfactory way.
They are given a great amount of strength, however, and many forces have joined together to see to their destruction. Dr. Avian rebuild Patricia's body with technology from one of the Anti-Skullgirls Labratories with reality-defying bioweaponry with hopes that she would be powerful enough to defeat the newest Skullgirl. Patricia (now named Peacock) was more powerful than they had ever hoped, as well as eager to take on the task when it was presented to her. Having been young when she was mutilated by the Slave Traders who had captured her turned out to be too much for her mind; combined with the strain of her new body Peacock had gone insane. Her child-like obsession with cartoons took a strong form when it came to the reality-defying devices within her, and with the help of Avery (a special weapon that puts her thoughts into reality) created a gang of cartoon-esque weapons with unique personalities and fantastic strength.
Having heard the news that the Skullgirl was on the move, Peacock went out to kill her. Along the way she was distracted by three women who intended to destroy the Skullgirl themselves for various reasons, and considering them nothing more than 'posers' who just didn't know how important she was. Peacock beat them and intended to move on to track the Skullgirl down, only to hear news that the Lab Dr. Avian had built was under attack.
Despite she and her gang's quick movements they arrived too late, though fortunately Dr. Avian was still alive. He informed her that another Anti-Skullgirls' lab hand had betrayed them, a woman named Valentine, by letting the Skullgirl in. The Skullgirl destroyed the Labratories and most inside before leaving. After begging Peacock to be careful and telling her that he had faith in her abilities and inner strength, Dr. Avian dies. Swearing revenge, Peacock heads out to New Meridian with full intentions of taking care of the Skullgirl... only to find that the new Skullgirl was a childhood friend of hers named Marie who suffered a similar way that she did back when they were slaves.
Hurt by the realization, but unyielding in her decision, Peacock moves forward to the Trinity Grand Cathedral for a final confrontation with her. Here she is stopped by Valentine, the lab-hand who had let Marie into the Anti-Skullgirls labs. Peacock demands to know why Valentine betrayed them, insisting that their labs were supposed to defeat the Skullgirl together. Valentine tells her that she had no intention of explaining her reasoning to a child, so Peacock attacks and defeats her before heading down into the catacombs below the chruch.
Marie tells Peacock that she shouldn't have come to her, that her mission to kill the Mafia slave traders that imprisoned them was almost finished. That soon the promise she made to Patricia would be fulfilled, but Peacock interrupts her claiming that she had no choice BUT to be worried about her. The Skull Heart had turned Marie into a Skullgirl and Peacock had been created to kill her. Of course she was worried. Marie insists that she should leave, but Peacock refuses and tells Marie that she hopes that they can sit and eat some pie together once everything is over.
Peacock wins and destroys the Skull Heart (claiming that she doesn't need wishes because she's already the strongest thing around), before having a touching moment with a dying Marie. She comforts Marie and tells her that it's okay that she ran away the day that she was mutilated and that they would always be friends and that while she's at it, she will finish Marie's mission to kill the Mafia family that hurt them. She tells her that she is happy to hear it before she fades away.
Abilities/Special Powers:
Having been mutilated by the Mafia, Peacock has been modified with so many different weapons that only her brain and her face are her own anymore (and even then her brain is severely damaged). Her arms are extendable and adorned with eyes that are made to be able to 'see everything'. Though I'm going to assume that means everything that is physically able to be seen, not invisible things or things that are in another room. These are her only source of sight and her real eyes were gouged out by a man before she became the Anti-Skullgirl weapon that she is. Her teeth are also a bear-trap that can pop out of her mouth, they appear to be connected by a chain.
Her new limbs give her a great amount of jumping ability (by use of springs), as well as a decent amount of speed (by being able to roll her legs that crazy way that cartoon characters do when they're running incredibly fast). She is not a very good close distance fighter, and prefers to stay farther back so she doesn't have to resort to poking her enemy in the face. Most of her moves pack a strong enough punch to knock her opponents away from her with relative ease.
Due to the bio-weaponry installed in her, Peacock has become a strong long-distance fighter. Prone to shooting weapons that she produces out of seemingly nowhere, with comical results. The main shooting weapons that she produces are a cannon that shoots Baseballs, Bowling balls, or Bullet Bill from Super Mario rather than traditional cannon balls. A revolver that does the same as the cannon bullet-wise, and/a revolver that shoots a multitude of swords used by various main characters from various old video games (including but not limited to Final Fantasy 7 & 8, Evil Dead (though this is a chainsaw arm), and Guilty Gear).
Very much like old-time cartoons, Peacock also has the ability to drop objects on an opponent from the sky. The only warning of this being a Shadow of Impending Doom looming above them. The items vary greatly and can be anything from a Potted Plant to a Elephant. Televisions with Japanese emoticon faces are also not unheard of. If you'd like a whole list I can provide one, but it is a long list of incredibly useless items that really only clog up the screen with garbage after the fact.
Her last ability is based on the "Hole" scenes that sometimes pop up in old cartoons. Peacock disappears into a hole she makes appear on the ground and can teleport in front of or behind her opponent. She sometimes uses it to produce a regular bomb at the opponents feet for added damage. This is the end of her not-cooperative powers in-game.
Despite her reality-bending powers, a good chunk of her abilities will be nullified upon entering the Mansion because they involve Avery and the rest of her 'cartoon gang'. Each have respective personalities, so I'll give a brief description of what they do to give a description of what Peacock is capable of in the real world considering they will not be joining her in Wonderland due to being technically different characters. All of the abilities below will not be used in Wonderland:
+Avery the Peacock.
-Shoots lasers from beneath Peacock's hat during combos.
-Shoots a gun from beneath Peacock's hat during combos.
-Created the gang of cartoon cronies that follow Peacock, so no Avery then no cronies.
+George
-George is a giant bomb that varies in size that participates in a few of Peacock's combos. He can be seen as a small one that walks across the screen until he explodes by hitting the target and only the target.
-Sometimes he will appear on a go-kart and drive-bomb the opponent.
+Lonesome Lenny
-Lenny is a giant bomb who appears and takes up half of the screen, he has a long fuse but the more that he is damaged the quicker his timer runs out. His explosion is so large that it is likely that not only the opponent will be hit, but Peacock will be caught in it as well.
+Andy Anvil
-An anvil with boxing gloves that falls from the sky during Peacock's "Shadow of Impending Doom" attack, he also participates in the "Goodfellas" special that will be mentioned further below.
+Tommy 10-Tons
-A giant 10-Ton block weight with a face that falls from the sky during Peacock's "Shadow of Impending Doom" attack, he also participates in the "Goodfellas" special that will be mentioned further below.
"Goodfellas" is a large scale free damage throw that all of Peacock's arsenal of cartoon men participate in. It will be inactive in Wonderland as well.
Third-Person Sample:
When the smoke cleared Peacock couldn't help but to be surprised. Her brows furrowed as the eyes adorning her arms glanced around.
This was not the Trinity Grand Cathedral. Marie was nowhere to be found and this place was far too...green. Too empty. Hell, it only looked like a big rock of a crummy old house down the way. If she had eyes she'd roll them in irritation as she cocked her head to the side and stretched her long metal arms behind her head. "Looks like we ain't in Kansas anymore, boys."
...
"Guys?" She turned sharply on her heel then, glaring out into the nothingness of the ocean behind her. "The hell? BOYS, where you at? This ain't no time for hiding you lugheads! ANDY! TOMMY! LENNY! Ya lazy bums get your asses in gear!" At the lack of response she grimaced and she yanked the hat from her head and looked inside. "Avery?"
Nothing.
Her teeth grit as she turned toward the mansion then, replacing her hat to her head as she began the treck toward it with full intentions of finding whoever had the guts to kidnap her and show them a world of hurt.
Before she was through she'd be painting the mansion red.
First-Person Sample:
Hey, is this thing on? Damn, this thing is a piece of crap. How old is it, huh? This place too cheap to get any good technology? I bet this damn thing don't even got wifi.
Anyway, look, sorry about that whole 'I'm gonna blow up the place' thing. I think we got off on the wrong foot here. The names Peacock, now who knows where I can find a tv? It's re-run season and I've got some quality animation to be watchin' since we're stuck in this joint and there ain't no Skullgirls for me to be killin'. So why don'tcha help a lady out, eh?
